There is clearly a CoC mod that is willing to pick up the pieces but nobody from the dev team wants to do endorse it, cause *reasons*. And it’s the kind of this asshole-ish attitude of “Ya, it’s not gonna ever be finished but WDGF” that upsets me.Īnd don’t give me that “content comes out of the public” crap. I don’t check the fenoxo website on the daily basis, bonehead, I come here once a month just to see if there are any new updatres.Īnd I do feel entitled since I backed original CoC out of me pocket, and this sort of side-sweeping the previous game does not send a good message for the other game’s future support. Leaving you satisfied that you have tackled the main problem your character was presented with. But in the end, there should be an ending…even if you can continue playing afterwards. There can be a lot of side stuff too, especially in games where it’s entirely up to the player as to whether they want to focus on the main problem or whether they want to explore the various sideplots and non-main character arcs. It can leave loose threads for future stories to continue – ie, the initial problem has been dealt with but it’s implied there’s a bigger problem that ultimately needs to be taken care of, though – depending on the story – it may not be the role of the main characters of THIS story to handle, simply setting the ground in for a future cast to deal with said problem. So yeah, by definition, any good story ends. For episodic forms of media, generally each episode is its own contained story, showing the characters and their problem, the conflict, and wrapping that aspect up before moving on to the next episode.

Now, a story doesn’t necessarily have to have these in order – starting off in the middle of things or even at the ending, then going back to explain how things got to that point – and sometimes a story can be spread out over multiple books/films/games/whatever…but if it doesn’t have all three of those elements it cannot be considered a proper, complete story. At least if it’s a good ending, there’s certainly lots of unsatisfying endings. In Corruption of Champions, this is the beginning where the protagonist is introduced, their general situation (tossed into demon world as sacrifice) is introduced, which also happens to be the primary problem.Ģ) Conflict, which is usually most of the story, where the character or characters are (surprise) in conflict with one or more somethings, be it other people, an environment, or even themselves…generally characters are developed and change in response to the conflict, though sometimes simply more about the character is revealed…ģ) Resolution, when the character or characters finally confront the problem ultimately driving the story, tying together the elements of the story and resulting in an ending…as well as allowing the person experiencing the story – be they the reader, the watcher, the player – to feel satisfied at things finally wrapping up. I don’t have any art of Lethice on hand, so have some classic Helia by Adjatha.Ĭan’t say as I know anything about Adventure Quest, but the structure of a story is:ġ) Setup, where the primary characters, their general situation, and whatever the problem that drives the story forward is are all introduced. Breast-focused win-scene for all genders.Lethice’s current scene catalog basically breaks down as

Fen wants to write another bad end for her at the least, and for the sake of actually doing a whole week on CoC-week I might jam out a fem-focused win scene if time permits, but… we’re gonna be looking at a placeholder epilogue damn soon (with intent to replace with a full epilogue on the next and probably final CoC week). Unless one of us gets kidnapped by aliens or something today, pretty sure we’ll be able to pass a finished D3 on to the code-dragon department by week’s end. So after a mighty 7+ hour long stream and some 6,600 words smashed out, Lethice is *basically* done. Others will probably be left the way they are. We know there are definitely loose ends left dangling in CoC some of them will probably be retroactively removed (the dead-end Helspawn Incest path for example) or edited to sound more complete with the content they have.

So Dungeon 3 is the last content expansion you can expect for CoC. Working on OG CoC simply isn’t viable (for several reasons) - as evidenced by how much time it’s taken to get this far, or just the time between patches in general. Contrary to popular opinion I don’t like being Dreamcrusher McHitler, but you deserve to have the question answered. EDIT: The answer to “Will Ever Get Finished?” is “No.” Please stop asking.
